In December 2021, I decided to take the plunge and purchased my first mirrorless camera, the Sony A7iii. After being a Nikon user for more than ten years, the idea of switching completely to a new camera system was a bit scary. I took an entire year to truly learn the Sony system and although at times I wanted to give up, I knew that I had to just keep going.
This January I got rid of the last of my Nikon gear and purchased another Sony mirrorless camera, Sony A7iv. I think I had been holding on to my Nikon DSLR system out of loyalty, but I realized that it was truly time to change. And I am so glad that I did.
A couple of weeks ago, I had to get some engagement pictures of us done ASAP. And since it was too late to find a photographer, I decided to use my expertise to take self portraits with my Sony A7iii. I used:
- Sony a7iii + 85mm (sigma)
- Sony’s incredible Eye Autofocus
And in the end, I was truly happy with the result. In ten minutes, I was able to capture moments of us together to remember our engagement year.
