One question I get often is regarding the best time for family photos.  Now the easy answer when considering the time of year really depends on which season you love the most and the one you want to serve as the backdrop for your family portraits.  Some people love spring because of the bold, bright colors and others love fall because of the deep browns and cooler weather.  Although I don’ think I know many families that just love summer enough to get photographed during the hottest season, it has happened before.  So ultimately it definitely is your choice and you have so many options to schedule your family photos.

However, the timing I am referring to has nothing to do with the time of year.  I am specifically talking to those of you who keep putting off scheduling a photo session for your family because it isn’t the right time.  Busy schedules often take priority or by the time you decide to book a session, everyone is completely booked.

I’ve even heard beautiful moms say:

• * I don’t like being in front of the camera.
• * My hair just looks awful right now.
• * I don’t have anything to wear.
• * I am going to wait until I lose a few pounds.
• * I am going to wait until my kids are older so that they can behave at the session.
