In the past year, I have grown my love for photographing high school seniors. In the past 13 years as a family photographer I would photograph a handful of seniors every so often. However, the class of 2023 and 2024 have quickly made me realize that I love photographing seniors. And here is why:
3 Reasons I love To Photograph Seniors
- They always find a way to have fun. Even the quietest and most shy teens end up having a blast in front of the camera. Whether it is the music playing in the background or the super easy moves I ask them to do, something makes them forget the camera isn’t there. Even senior guys comment at the end of their session about how much fun they have. And when they have fun, I do too!
- High School seniors get excited about their outfits and so do I! We plan every part of it together and we meet before the session via video call to make sure that every outfit is just right for the session. And at the photo session, the seniors change outfits to show off their current style and personality. It is like playing dress-up and I’m always up for that.
- The pictures I take and the photos I deliver always make them smile. I love that they put all of their insecurities aside to see who they truly are just by looking at their photo gallery. I love the messages I receive when they see their photos for the first time. It makes my heart happy to hear the joy in their messages after seeing themselves in the photos.
I love to photograph seniors. It is a wonderful time of their life… the moment between childhood and adulthood. It is the beginning of a new chapter in their lives and I love that I get to be the one to freeze these moments for them.
