There is so much to look forward to when our kids start their senior year in high school. It is an exciting year and it is one we always want to look back on.  And the best way to look back on such a memorable year is to definitely get those senior photos taken.   So when is the best time to book senior photos?

I often get asked when is the best time to schedule senior portraits.  Technically you can schedule them any time, however there are some things to keep in mind.

Consider the following:

• Make sure to check yearbook deadlines.  You want to make sure to schedule the session with enough time to get the photos taken and then have enough time before the deadline to receive your gallery.  Give yourself one month to get them in on time.
• You will want to consider the weather/season.  Fall and Spring are the most popular times to book a senior photo session.  That is because the temperatures in Texas are cooler and we don’t have to worry about getting all sweaty.
• If you plan to include specific props like a cap and gown, a Letterman Jacket, or a uniform, make sure to schedule the session when you know you will have these at hand.
• Consider when your schedule is not so busy.  I will help you plan and prepare for your session, but when your schedule has more flexibility you have more time to dedicate to preparing for your session.

As soon as you have an ideal month in mind, consider booking your session date as soon as possible.  Fall and Spring dates fill up quickly, so you will want to have a date set aside for your senior photos as soon as possible.  The best time to book senior photos is up to you!
