A new year brings new goals for JIP!

When It All Started

In 2011, I had this dream of one day opening my own photography business.  It started with a love for photos and then eventually turned into a growing opportunity as a photographer.  I forever loved carrying around a camera. As a matter of fact, I was that friend in high school (pre cell phone cameras) that always had a camera in hand.  That passion for photography gave me the determination to open JIP and 12 years later I am still here.

Running a business is definitely not an easy task, but nothing worth having ever is.  However, I have found ways over the years to try to simplify things to help me juggle it all. And for that reason, this year I have put so many more systems in place to help me grow JIP even more.  If you’ve been with me long enough you will notice those small changes in our interactions and communication.  All those systems are not only meant to make it easier for me to run this business, but also to help my clients have a very easy experience from start to finish.

Chasing a New Dream

I have also decided to chase down another dream of mine.  This past summer I attended a conference for photographers and I fell in love with senior photography.  The planning involved, the actual shoot, and the fun experience that it can all be made me want to do it even more.  So you may start to see a lot more senior photos on my social media feed, and if you visit my website you will see a whole page dedicated to senior photography.

And finally, there is one more dream that I am chasing that sparked from a personal project I explored in 2022.  After photographing women in our community that built businesses from the ground up, I have decided to one day offer brand photography.  It is more than just a headshot, it is about capturing what your business is all about.  It is still in the early stages, but my goal is to launch brand photography sessions by the end of 2023.

What About Family Sessions?

And if you are wondering if I will continue to shoot family sessions, the answer is yes!  I may not schedule as many as in previous years, but family photography holds a special place in my heart so I won’t ever completely stop.

I am so excited to continue this journey! I can’t wait to show you all that I have planned! Thank you for sticking by me all these years.
