Recently I had the opportunity to attend ClickAway… a photography conference that offers the most amazing learning experiences for photographers. It is always wonderful to attend something like this because I get to meet so many people that share this passion of mine.
I learned so much in the few days spent at the conference. To be honest with you, I didn’t learn much about the photography aspect of being a photographer. Odd… I know! But what I did walk away with was more than I could learn from a book. I really learned more about life and being happy with what I choose to do. I learned…
~ I need to become the woman i want my son to know. I want him to see me as a strong, confident person… someone not afraid to chase down a dream or get back up after falling down once or twice.
~ I learned that I would rather capture moments of families being as they are. Forget the posed photograph… that isn’t real. Families don’t sit up tall… in an organized way…at home. Families laugh, play, hug and cry. i want to capture that!!!!
~ I learned that experiences are worth more than tangible things. I would rather spend time and money on a moment that I can share with those I love rather than buying something that will only end up in a garage sale in time.
~ I learned to act on my ideas. I don’t want to let another ideas pass me by… or see it appear somewhere else. An idea can become real as long as I set my mind to it.
And so as I leave you with images that I took at ClickAway back in October… I hope they make you think about what it is like to not be afraid to dream and to think about the time in your life when you believed in EVERYTHING! Sometimes we need to be reminded to get back there.
