We all know that some years are easier than others.  Sometimes there are chapters in our journey that we wish we could skip or even forget.  But take it from someone that has experienced some pretty hard days, every year is still worth remembering.  Don’t skip getting your family photos taken… because as hard as it can be sometimes there is still something about that specific time that will bring you joy when you look back.

A few years back I decided that even if my little family including just my son and I… just the two of us… I was still going to get our family pictures taken.  At the time, we may not have looked like the family I always envisioned or hoped for, but it was still my family and I loved who we were.  And so, no matter how hard life was for me at the time… I made a point to get our pictures taken…. And to this day they are some of my favorite family photos of  all time.

Today, when I look back at those images I don’t think back to the difficult times I was experiencing then.  Instead, I see a strong woman who was doing the very best that she could.  I see the person who found strength in her every day to make life enjoyable for her and her son.  Those images remind me that beyond the difficult moments new beginnings always come along.
