As someone who has experienced being a mom to a high school senior, I can tell you that the year will fly by before you know it.  You will have every intent to book that senior photo session, but you will soon realize that if it isn’t truly booked it will be the last thing you think about until it’s too late.  I had quite a few seniors try to book a session in March and April and by then there were no dates left.  So to avoid that happening to you… here are some tips to make it happen!

Tips to Book That Senior Photo Session

1.      Don’t wait until the season arrives.

Although most seniors aim to schedule their senior photos for the Spring, the Fall and late summer before your senior year are also great times to book your senior session.  Whichever season you prefer, don’t wait until the season arrives to snag a date.  By then, it is very likely that there are no more dates available.  So, if you are wanting a fall date, schedule it the summer before.  If you want a spring date, book the session in August/September.  Doing it early will guarantee you a photo session slot.  

2.     Choose A Month, Tentative Day.

It may be difficult to book a photo session months in advance when you may not know dates for school events ahead of time.  Luckily, I only book a specific amount of sessions each month so if we can play around with the original date you choose.  I would be happy to move your date up or down within the same month if needed.  Fo now, just choose a tentative date for the specific month you want.  Doing that will at least guarantee you a senior photo session date within the month you really want. 

3.     Choose a Month that Isn’t So Busy

When choosing a date for your senior photos, consider choosing a month when you know you won’t be too busy.  Consider sporting events, vacations, testing dates, college tour dates, and senior events when booking your senior photo session.  The last thing you want is to add another thng to a very busy month, so choose a month that has less than a full calendar.
