I set out this summer to capture the magic of childhood. To photograph the moments in a child’s life where make believe becomes reality. I started with him. And on this day he put on his cape and he became a real life superhero.
This little one.. who barely spoke one word to me before… became a real life superhero. Strong enough to run from building to building, confident enough to “fly” from one end to the other, and brave enough to not allow his fears to get in the way. He stood tall! He gave it his best shot and enjoyed every minute of it.
If only it was that easy, right? Wearing a cape to feel stronger and more confident. And maybe wearing an actual cape could be a bit silly for us. After all we are not kids anymore. But I think the next time I need a confidence boost, a shot of bravery or some extra strength, I may just pretend to wear that superhero cape . I have a feeling that the superhero in me may just make an appearance.
