A few weeks ago, I spent the weekend at the ranch shooting with my Sony A7iii. It was the perfect opportunity to find quiet time, unplug and shoot with no purpose other than to practice with my mirrorless.
I made the transition from DSLR to mirrorless almost a year ago. I’ve been a Nikon user since I started my photography business more than 11 years ago. However, I purchased my Sony A7iii last December and although I haven’t truly shot many clients sessions with it, I have spent the last year learning how to use it. It is very different than my Nikon…and although I still shoot client sessions with my Nikon D780, I know that soon I will need to make the jump and shoot mirrorless 100% of the time.
Until then, I will enjoy shooting with my Sony A7iii when the pressure is off and when I am shooting for myself. In this case, it was the perfect camera to have when I encountered these beautiful animals during our ranch trip. I’m beginning to love the images that my Sony camera produces, and although it is definitely a learning curve, I am enjoying the challenge of learning something new!
