My name is Jessica, and I am the lead photographer at Jessica Idalia Photography. I have been photographing families for over a decade, and over the years I have met so many incredible families. I am a lover of golden light, real authentic moments, and natural light. Before we meet, I would love for you to know a little about me.
Ten Things About the Lead Photographer
- I am a MOM! I am a mom to my son who is now 19 years old. He was my inspiration to pick up the camera so long ago and my motivation to keep going when I didn’t know if I could make this business work. I am a stepmom to a beautiful girl with the most amazing faith and giving heart.
- I have two amazing pups… both Shih’tzus! They fill our home with lots of love and because we are technically empty nesters, they are the only ones that greet me when I get home! I love being a dog mom.
- I am wife to my amazing husband. He makes it possible for me to follow my dreams and I love that we are a team!
- I have loved photography since I was a kid. There is something about freezing a moment in time that makes my heart do a happy dance.
- At one time in my life, I remember being pretty shy. Over the years I have learned how to speak in front of large crowds and meet new people without getting anxious. To be an educator and a photographer, I kind of had to get over that.
- I love to read books that will help me grow in every area of my life. Lately I am obsessed with reading books about finance, budgets, and investments. It makes me sound a bit nerdy but I love it!
- I am a big Taylor Swift fan. I love her voice, her song lyrics, and her incredible talent. She is one amazing artist and my ultimate dream is to one day attend one of her concerts.
- Living a non-toxic life is my ultimate goal. I love buying products that are not only good for my family but that also don’t cause us any harm. If you are ever looking for a cleaning company that is toxic free, you need to check out my favorite company… Branch Basics.
- For 21 years, I worked as an educator. I went to school to get my education degree and taught elementary aged students, coached teachers, and wrote curriculum for a local district. My experience helped me learn how to work with kids of all ages… even when I’m behind the camera.
- Time is so precious to me. Having flexibility and control over how I spend my time daily is something that I treasure. Now that I get to do that I feel so much happier and incredibly grateful every single day.
