As graduation season comes to an end, I felt the urge to share Miss “G’s” fun senior photo experience with you. I made the drive to downtown New Braunfels in May to capture this beauty’s senior photos, and it was the perfect location for a fun filled afternoon.
So What made it fun?
1. We didn’t spend two hours posing! Instead, we walked around the location finding the perfect light and the perfect backdrop. And when we found it, i made sure to give her very simple instructions to do “something” that would give me the perfect pose. I even modeled some of the moves myself… which made it a lot easier for her.
2. We talked about her! In between spots, we talked about her dreams, her goals, and her senior year. She shared so much about her life, and I was happy to hear it. I always enjoy getting to know my seniors.
3. They forget the camera is even there! It is always difficult to have a camera right in front of your face. As a matter of fact, even I struggle to get my picture taken. For that reason, I make sure to shoot from far away… as much as possible. And… as I am clicking that shutter, I prompt my seniors in such a way that they aren’t always facing the camera. My seniors forget the camera is there and I get the best reactions from them.
At every senior photo session, I strive to make it fun for my seniors. The best compliment of all is hearing them say that they really enjoyed it. And so far, every senior I have photographed has had fun!
